Money is no object: Michelin Pilots (one of the all-season varieties)
Money is an object: Falken Ziex 512s
Another one to consider: Potenza RE950s (not sure if they come in 17" sizes though).
My $0.02.

thanks for the input... i hope to get a few more opinions since i have more time before it gets cold and id like to save as much as possible before i buy tires.

another variable to consider is the quality of roads here in new york... which tires would give us max drivers with stock wheels the best road feel vs pothole absorbtion?

hey im in nyc too, was also wondering what set of tires would be good to use all year long, especially in the winter, don't have enough money to get two sets of wheels and rims.

I have had the Michelin Pilots since last September, there great in all weather conditions.

Negative: Watch out for the potholes, especially those of you in the Bronx. I have gone through 6 front tires because of bubbles by unavoidable potholes, or ones hidden by puddles/snow. If you can get them from a place that offers a hazard warranty, TAKE IT.
