Mustang Rims on a Max??

I remember reading some where that the newer pattern from the 94+ Mustangs would fit the 4th Gen Maximas. Has anyone put some Mustang rims on their Max? If so, do you have some pictures?

Thanks a bunch,
John

You should not cross brands in things like this PERIOD. Never put nissan wheels on a toyota, never put mustang wheels on a nissan, never put ferrari wheels on a porsche.

Why not???
For example, Porsche turbo wheels look good on VW GTI's.

now if you put lambo wheels on a VW, then it wont be cross brands, as they are the same company. but anyway, my buddy had a 1989 Buick LeSabre Custom with Chrome Cobra R Wheels on it, and it looked hot

Wow, didn't think people would hate the idea so much. How can you call it ugly before you even see it? Anyway, I tried it. Yes they do fit. The particular rims I put on were from a 2003 Mustang. They are the standard 16s offered, but they were polished. I'll let you take a look and see how it turned out.

i hope you plan to lower your baby. Ford rims with the 4x4 stance is UGGGGGLY. As for the rims, I prefer the 5-spoke that nissan offers, dont really like the look. Maybe with some Cobra rims it may look good...hmmmmm

I would figure you cant even use the rims, because the mustang is a RWD car, and arnt RWD & FWD rims different?
But the Cobra rims would look nice on the car, provided you take the cobra out of the center cap. All 5 star rims look good on maxys =D

I got my wheels from a mustang

A reason to get them is if you have a BBK, the 98 cobra wheels clear most of them and you can get them cheap.

Nick 7455, i think what he meant as rice is that only those ricerockets would do such thing, as getting other car rims, and putting them on their car.

and as for Ford rims on a maxima, is not that im hatting on how it will look like on the maxima (im curious actually) but i just dont like the idea of a ford rim on the nissan.
for example, if i saw a Nice *** maxima, all hooked up, but on some different kind of company rims on, even though it looked nice, i woulnd't dig it as much.

Hah, yeah it would have to be lowered for sure. I think a rim that would look really good on the car is the polished '99 Cobra wheels. The design is a little more open than the 16s I tried on the car and I think that would help out a lot. Plus, you cant go wrong with the price tag: $160 a pop. Thats why I would put Ford rims on my Max. They are inexpensive but nice rims. And another plus? The Mustang community is so large you can find any style rim for dirt cheap used.

a mustang is an amazing car, it would just look ridiculous if you put cobra wheels on a max. if you want a beautiful Ford symbol, buy an SVT.

Check out Jeff92SE's car. He has cobra rims (as well as Cobra brakes hehehe) and they look very nice on his 3rd gen. Absolutely NOT ricey and very clean and aggressive looking.

I hope Jeff doesn't mind, but I found a pic of it:

Exactly. I picked up a set of 98 Mustang Cobra rims for $300 for the wintertime, and they will clear my BBK no problem and look great doing it. They don't even have "Ford" centercaps, it's just the Cobra, and you can paint over it if you want.

Here's a pic I snagged from Brad92Se's cardomain:

They don't look particularly different from any other 5-spoke wheel (kinda ironic that you OWN 5-spokes joeynym), and they are high quality, relatively lightweight and can be had cheaply. But hey, who needs wheels like that?

*cough* Look at the sig.

Anyways... Ford Mustang rims on a maxima. We've been doing it for years. Some like it, some don't. Mostly of the domestic on an import thing. Which is ridiculas for a number of reasons:
1) FWD/RWD doesn't matter. Only thing matters is the bolt pattern/offset/hub size. So there's one rumor down the drain.
2) Domestic vs Import. Guess what? You really think Ford or Nissan even make their wheels? ie.. have an aluminum processing plant and cast their own wheels?? Guess again folks.
3) Haters in general. I guess you guys like having the same rims that some ricer civic can have. You guys can roll together in a pack or something
