Bent Wheel -- Average Replacement Cost??
Bent Wheel -- Average Replacement Cost??
I have a bent wheel on the front left of my 2001 Maxima SE. Does anyone have an idea of how much it will cost to have this fixed at a Nissan dealership? Any estimate would be helpful.
I took it this morning to MIDAS to have the alignment looked at (my steering wheel is tilted to the left when I'm moving straight), and they said the alignment wasn't the problem -- it was a bent wheel. Is there a correlation there, or do I need a new wheel AND a new alignment? Please let me know.
Thanks all.

If your wheel is bent.... the dealer can't fix it..... they could send it out to a wheel repair co.... dealer will reccomend new wheel..... if your steering wheel is off center.. I would be suprised if the alignment is not off.....you could even have a bent suspension part.... If it were me I would find a nice used wheel to replace the bent on and have the car realigned... make sure to tell the tech that the steering wheel is off center.. they can correct that during the alignment..
I bent mine. Cost me $125 to have it fixed here:

1 new Nissan rim is over $500 at the dealer AFAIK. I bought a set of 4 wheels off eBay for ~$440 shipped. I had 1 wheel replaced about 6 months before and it cost me $336 total, and it was a used wheel (the dude was probably ripping me off a little, come to think of it... but I really wanted to get rid of that horrible shimmy so I went with it)
