Wheel offset

I found some rims that i like but the offset is 42 and i read somewhere that the offset should be between 35 and 40. would i have a problems if i use them with 225/50R17 tires? would they hit anything on the car on turns? I appreciate any help

You should have no problems unless the rims are over 9 inches which I vey much doubt.
