i will need to replace my tires soon and i was wondering what is the best bang for the buck when it comes to tires....i dont need anything too great just the fact that i rarely race....i just need something thats more of a performance tire that is not going to rape me......i have continental tourings right now....those came brand new when i bought my car from the dealership a year and a half ago....ive put about 30k on them

 

If you don't need all-seasons, I would say Nitto NT-555s or Fuzion ZRis are great bang-for-the-buck tires. There's always the uber-popular Falken Ziex 512s, too.

 

If you want high performance all seasons I would check out the BridgeStone Potenza RE950s. They grip really well and I've seen nothing but great reviews

I have the RE950s in 215/60/15.
They do grip well, and they look very nice on the Max. I think they were $80-some a piece from TireRack and I got them in 2 days.

 

My friend has Pirelli PZero Nero M+S....He said he absolutely loves them.....with 10k miles on his pzero nero M+S he says theres still very little signs of tread wear...and he says they grip like hell too...Check out tire rack for some awesome reviews on this tire and the price isn't bad at all.....but i'm not sure how well they compare with pricing with the other tires that these other people have listed.....I'm pretty sure they are about the same

 

do the nitto nt-555 have any rain grip at all? i thought they were just a drag radial.

Looks like the NT-555R is the drag radial.

 

i just bought a set of BF Goodrich Traction T/As for my 97 GXE. first day (in the rain) great grip so far (including a hairpin turn downhill on a local road). $68/each on tirerack. i price-matched at sears, with road hazard insurance, lifetime balancing, "free" mounting, new valve stems, disposal fee, etc and a wheel alignment ($65), came out to $500 even.

I also bought the bf goodrich traction control T/A as well a year ago at T.O. Haas. I've raced them this summer about 10-15 times on the track. Had them in snow, rain and twisties. I LOVE them. After all of that my tires are down to 8 in front and 9 in back. During hard turns in corners, the tires stick on road like velcro. Can't hydroplane in rain and in snow they are awesome. When it's time to get new ones, guess which tires I'm gonna buy.

 

Anyone ever try toyo proxies-4? My friend bought a set of 225-50-16 for his acura legend and he loves them. He said his grip has improved on his car greatly.
