HP Evo's on a 2000 I30
Hey guys...I have a few questions about fitment of these wheels. I ordered a set of 18x8 HP Evo's and just UNsuccessfully tried to mount them. The front will mount but the center cap will not and the rear won't mount up at all - wont fit over the spindle on the rear rotor (does it matter that I have ABS and rotors on all 4 wheels?). I am thinking that I need to request another offset (?) (they sent me 38mm - i think). I have two questions:
1- If i stay with the 18x8's what is the correct offset? Will this fix the fitment issues? 2 - what is the widest wheel i can go with? Anyone know if I can run a staggered set up on my car (2000 Infiniti I30). Thinking I might want to try 18x9 in the rear (??) Any help is greatly appreciated!! Thanks! |
bump (HELP!)

Keep the same size all around, it makes it much easier to rotate tires.;) Will a spacer correct the bore problem in the rear as well? |
Thanks Man!! one more question...is 225/40/18 too small? In the I30 forum I was just told that I should run a 245/40/18 or at the very least a 235/40/18....

I suggest contacting the person you got the wheels from first. These shouldn't need any extra work to be mounted. I have heard that some people remove the dust cap entirely (or hammer it flat)....but this sounds like it may be problematic...any thoughts? |
Thanks for all the help TE. Here is what I have concluded:
1 - i need to send all 4 wheels and tires back and request 245/40/18's 2 - make sure that they include 10mm hubcentric spacers and centering rings 3 - i'm going to go with the 18x9 in the back, so I will need to remove the dustcap in the rear Ok....i think that about covers it.....if there are anymore thoughts please feel free to share! Thanks! |
sorry to keep beating this dead horse...but last question.....can I run a 245/40/18 on a 18x9" wheel?
