Question on Tire pressure

The sticker on the door sill says to fill up the OEM tires to 32psi ( I have the potenzes)...but on tirerack Max pressure says 44 psi...so what should I fill it to? I've never had to fill my own air ever since i bought the car last year but for some reason, I keep losing air after 3-4 months and have been filling to 32psi only....should i go to 44 psi instead?

when winter comes its normal for pressure to decrease...i've seen so many people around these last few weeks w/really low air in their tires.

If you haven't been losing that much air, just fill it back up to 32 and see what happens. If it's a faster leak you can do more in anticipation of leakage, but you should really get it looked at instead.

You're measuring all pressures cold, before it has been driven (maybe a few blocks is okay), right?

Measuring the when the tires are warm/hot ( after 15-20 mins of driving on local roads)
But would it be okay to inflate to 35 or not? It would suck in snow but would get better mileage right?

32 psi is the recommended tire pressure by Nissan, 44 psi is the MAXIMUM the tire can be safely filled to. I typically run my potenzas in the 36-38 range and do find that gas mileage goes up slightly with the higher pressure. If you are planning on using the Potenzas in the snow, I don't care what pressure you put in them they are going to suck.

Unfortunately, tires are not "set it and forget it" maintenance items. It's entirely normal for a tire to lose a psi or so per month even if the temperature remains constant. And it's not necessarily a uniform occurrence - some tires/wheels/valve stems hold air quite well, while others may lose 2 psi/month or more. I've had some as good as one psi over 6 months or so and one as bad as 2 psi per day ! ! ! (porous wheel, you could see the tiny bubbles forming when you washed it).

Edit - try to get in the habit of checking them at least on a monthly basis.
