I just put a pretty nice gash in one of my sawblades. Will it rust if I just leave it? I kind of thought they were aluminum, but I don't remember were I saw this. Thanks.

 

I'm pretty sure they will and the clear coating will start to peel. Aluminum doesn't rust reddish brown like iron, but it does corrode and start to spread the damage. Just seal it up with some appropriate colour paint if nothing else.

 

My aluminum bike has all kinds of paint that's come off...no corrosion there. I probably will throw some paint on there to be safe. Thanks for you help.
