ContiExtremeContact on stock 17" SE rims?
I know they don't come in the stock size of 225/50-17 but they seem like such a decent tire for the price. The closest size they make them in to the original is 215/50. I know someone else has them on their stock SE rims and I remember a post mentioning that the actual tread width is the same or even larger.
My issue is with the overall height - according to the tire size calculator the stock tire's overall height is 25.9" and the Connie's (in 215/50) is 25.5" and this is a overall difference of only 1.5%. That part I can live with... what concerns me is it will essentially increase the wheel to fender gap by about .2". My car has the stock suspension and I have no plans on changing it (it's a lease).
I'm thinking that the difference between the Connie's shorter tire height is going to be not a huge difference between the worn out Craptenza's tire height... but I'm still not sure.
Anyone out there running the ContiExtremeContact on their stock 17" wheels have any comments for me?

I have Contis in 225/45/17 on my Max, but it's lowered. You'll have about an extra .7" wheel gap. My car was lowered before I switched so I can't really say how it'll look on a stock Max.
When is your lease running out? If it's going before another 25-30K miles are up, then definitely get the Contis -- they are a good value, why spend extra $$ on a leased car? The performance of the tires is great, but tread wear isn't. It may just be me (based on tirerack reviews), but they've lasted me 25k and they're worn.
EDIT: The ride quality may suffer a bit b/c you're going down to a 45 series, but it's nothing that would stop me from buying them. Also, before you buy diff. spec tires, make sure you read your lease agreement or call Nissan to make sure it'll be acceptable at lease turn-in time.
