New Falken 512 size 235/50/17

Since its so hard to find the 225's on the east coast falken has introduced a 235/50/17 tire that will be available in the up coming weeks. I pulled this from the 5th gen faq's to help with the obvious questions.

235/50R17: This tire size is in spec on 7.0"-wide rims. It produces a speedometer error of 1.5%, well within the recommended maximum speedometer error of 3.0%. Load ratings for this tire will normally exceed that of the 225/50R17 (load rating 93) and should not be a factor in selecting tires of this size. This tire has a higher profile than the 225/50R17 and will therefore produce a more compliant ride and less fender gap than the 225/50R17. (Credit: exunaja.)

If you have any other questions feel free to post up.

Thanks,

Jon

they are hard to find only on the east coast....wholesale divisions buy them quick...we here on the west can get them pretty easy..go figure... the 235 is just an option for people looking to run the 512 but cant find it in a 225...

Well, at least they're trying to do something about the shortage. Pretty pleased with the set I have on my OEM wheels. (225/50/17 from Edgeracing.com)

I did too before I took them off. Guess I'll have to take care of that once they get remounted on the car.

Once I change them out for my 19" wheels, I'll have them rebalanced. They weren't too bad, but could use it before the winter months get here.
