I got my new wheels today...

I know most of you don't care for chrome wheels on a silver max, but I'm old school and happen to love mine. Just got them today from www.thewheelconnection.com

Sumitomo HTR+ 235/40ZR18 on chrome 18" x 8" Absolute Chaos.

See...

Looks nice.

Those red & orange side markers are killing the whole silver car & chrome thing you have going on. My eyes are drawn to the side markers instead of the car itself. I like the wheels. But get some clear side markers to complete the look.

Whoa, for $1300 there are a TON of options you had. Congrats on your purchase, but just not feeling the chrome or the style.

I agree. I don't thing the chrome looks too bad, but the style I'm not crazy about. I think chrome might work on more of a "sleeper" wheel design. It kinda works on the chrome GLE wheels, b/c the design isn't so "in-your-face."

Damn Your wheels 18" on a 5thgen look to small. I think 20's+ up chrome or racing wheels would look allot better. This is what it should look like on 20's.

I DO like chrome rims, but I don't like yours at all. Not b/c it's silver and not b/c it's a Maxima, but just the style itself.

I'm new around here but what's with all of the hate regarding chrome rims? Some of you come down pretty harsh on others who have them. I put 18's on mine about a month ago and the ride looks kick *** now. Since when did alloy and gun metal reign supreme?

BTW, good looking ride billy. Thanks for sharing those.

like you said, it must be an old school thing. my brother has the gun metal wheels on his Accord and I hate it, but I don't knock him for it. some people around here seem like it's their duty to go above and beyond their means in assaulting someone who has chrome wheels, whichever the style it may be. The "hideous" comment wasn't even called for. Why even post that?

I've always loved the chrome...IMO, it's the only way to go. We have very similar cars...mine is a 2000 GLE with that same color on chrome 18's.

People on here crack me up...they post pics of their cars obviously looking for feedback. When the remarks they get aren't what they were looking for, they think we're "all out to get them". You post pics, you're free game for opinions.

I totally understand that one must take the bad w/the good and, to use an old adage, opinions are like a$$holes, everybodys got one. No problem, I can handle that. For instance:

Example to redmax2nv: You say "18's just dont look right on a 4th gen, only 19's and 20's look good" yet I have seen countless people on here say 19's & 20's are too big.

To 0eric2 who posed the question "Old school is chrome wheels on a silver Max?" It's not exactly the chrome wheels on a silver Max that I refer to as "old school". According to your profile, you're 24...I, on the other hand, am 34. During the late 80's and early to mid 90's, chrome wheels were the $hit and everyone was blacking their cars out (headlights, taillights, side markers, etc.) that is what I was refering to as "old school".

Now, I personally don't care about other peoples opinions, I am just trying to become a part of this "community". I have learned A LOT about my car from this forum and for the mostpart, enjoy coming here to learn more. I just overlook the negativity. However, you won't see me "slamming" my Max or putting a body kit on or adding an in-dash car-theatre or installing a camera in the trunk so I can see what's behind me or taking it to the track to see what it can do in the 1/4 mile. I have a beautiful wife, 15 y/o daughter, 12 y/o son and a $200k home that I prefer to invest my time and money into. I like a clean stereo & wheels, call me simple.

However, seeing as my daughter will be driving in 10 months, I just bought her a 2000 Ford Escort ZX2 and she & I will be doing some pretty radical stuff to that. She basically had her choice of cars and this is what she chose;

but my Max is fine for me.

.
The reason why most people here say that 19' 20'are to big because obviously the Maxima.org is more of a Racing Fan site not the Bling Bling it's true I will prove it, I will post a Nice looking car on 20's or up and watch how many people Bash Flame my pics. But once I post those pics on another website with modern Fresh, Hip Hop atmoshpere they will love it.

Hey don't worry about them your wheels are Nice.
Just a little to small for my taste on a 5thgen.
