I was thinking of gettting some porsche replica wheels that are 5x112 and I was wondering if they will fit on 5x114.3. I know they are different, but the difference is pretty small. Please don't post saying it wont work just because the size is different if you have not actually tried it or don't know for sure. I have heard many say it wont work simply because 5x112 is not equal to 5x114.3, but then I have heard of some who have actually done it, at least the opposite way, putting 5x114.3 wheels on a 5x112 car with no adapters. I have also seen wheels for sale where the seller claims they will fit 5x112 or 5x114.3 as if the two are interchangable. What do you think?

I bet you could get the wheels on the hub and over the studs with little trouble, because most wheels have at least a little leeway in the hole size, however since the studs wouldn't be centered in the holes, you might have a big problem with tightening the lugs down if the lug holes, or the lug nuts, are of a tapered design. Normally with tapered holes and studs the shape of the nut matches the hole perfectly, however if you put the stud off center, they can't mate perfectly and you might find yourself unable to tighten the studs evenly/enough, or damage the studs/wheel holes/lugs

Those wheels have 10 holes drilled in the hub area. One set of five for one pattern, one for the other.
