For new rims for my 2001 max, 235/40/18? Is this a good size? Will this make the speedometer off and display incorrect speeds?

 

245/40/18 is going to be pretty darn close almost exact. Thats what I used to have with stock 2004 maxima rims.

Did you have any problem with the 6th gen rim on the 5th gen. Rubbing on the strut or fender? affect the steering?

I didn't have any problems with the 04 maxima wheels on my car. They never rubbed or touched anything. I had 245/40/18 tires on them. The stock 04 maxima wheels have 245/45/18.

 

I'm using 2k4 wheels w/ 245/40/18 tires. No problem at all.

 

245/45/18 rub on bumps, check threads

 

with my stock suspension, they did not rub. now dropped on jic's, they rub on bumps and long dips at fast speeds. I need to raise up my suspension a little but I have adapted my driving to the rubbing issue so now I do not rub anymore.
