toyo proxes 4 or Falken Ziex 512s?
which would you suggest? im hearing good things about both of them, and they are pretty close in price (falkens: 90 per tire, toyos: 94 per tire)
I just went through this on the exact same two, they are both closely reviewed, I chose to go with the Proxes 4 and glad I did they are incredible on all fronts, ride, handling, noise, wet & dry traction. My tire guy recommended them over the Falkens for tread life and noise, a friend (Blackcat) on the org has the Falkens and he mentioned they were a little noisy so now I have the Proxes we going to get together to compare. I'd say go for the Toyo's I know you won't be dissapointed!

it sounds like toyos are the ones, becuause theres only a 4 dollar price diff. between the two, and most people are more satisfied with them it seems then the 512s..although the 512s are good tires

I debated the same thing, but since the Toyos are a relatively new model (I couldn't find many long term type reviews), and they don't have an OEM size replacement, I went with the 512's. They do seem a bit noisy on some surfaces, but so far not a bad tire at all. A definite improvement over the Potenzas. And a HUGE improvement in wet and snow. Only been in some mild snow and light ice, and it was fine. I do drop my speeds a LOT in these conditions, as I am in no hurry to go sliding around into ditches and such.
My 2000 came w/ Toyo Proxes they were pretty good tires but they dry-rotted. At the time I was parked outside all the time. I am currently running falken 502's the handling is excellent with the water channel but they need replacing due to tread depth. My Falken 512's should be in this week. IMO the Falkens are louder than the Toyos.
Toyo Proxes 4's is one of the best High performance all season tire. If you don't get the Toyo's go with the Perilli P Zero Nero M+S .You can't lose with both of those tires. The Falken's 512's are good tires but are a step below.
I too was thinking abt one of these two tires but Proxes 4 does not have 205/65/15, probably I need to go ahead with Falken's for now. I am not sure how good the Toyo TPT are!!! Any idea ? Thanks
I wanted to go with Toyo because I had them on my old accord and loved them. They don't have the stock size for our cars though. That is why I decided to go with the Falken Ziex ZE-512's. I will order them next week.
If i could do it all over, I'd go with the off-spec proxes instead of the 512s. Sidewalls are too soft for my taste.
If you don't mind losing turn-in sharpness and less comfortable ride you currently have, get the 512s. If you like the steering response to go numb and the car ride like a Buick or Grand Marquis, get the 512s.
