caring for rims in the snow?
caring for rims in the snow?
Hey y'all,
I've just moved to a place where it snows all the time. Is there anything in particular I can/should do to my rims that'll help protect them from the environment, and more importantly, from all the salt and sand on the road?
Thanks.

Keep 'em clean. Not sure if you have stock or aftermarket rims. Stock rims will hold up better in the winter, but the owners manual says to wash them off after driving in snow/salt. That's tough to do. I have run my OEM rims for 2 winters, washing them about every 2 to 3 weeks and they have held up very well. I wouldn't recommend running aftermarket rims in the winter even if you could wash them a few times a week.
