Rotating Tires

Quick questions. If I have a set of Goodyears upfront and a set of Coopers on the back. When I get them rotated will it matter if I have a mixed set up front and back... Like have one cooper and one goodyear on each side up front and back? I know you are suppose to cris cross them correct? What are you exactley to do? Also how often does everyone rotate their tires. If you could elaborate on what you do if you have mixed tires that would be great... thanks!

Keep each brand in the same axle but rotate as necessary (keeping the better set up front). You will experience understeer/oversteer, depending on the quality and overall shape of the tires, but it will be predictable. Don't mix tires in the same axle as this will make the handling unpredictable.
