summer tires for all-season in ATL?

I live in Atanta. It's pretty much warm here (30+ degrees) all year long. I'm about to buy new wheels and now I'm wondering, would it be okay to get summer performance tires for all-season use down here and just be careful when it gets really cold? What are the temperature cutoffs for these tires? I'm pretty ignorant about this stuff.

If you also want to throw in any comments about a Yokohama AVS ES100 tire / HP Evo Lightning 18" combo, feel free.

It depends on the tire- For example some Euro cars comes with only summer tires, like Audi A3, BMW 3 -M3, Benz AMG, clk,SL, G35C, 350Z, Lexus IS 300. They drive with those tire all year even in the cold /snow and they don't have any problem.

I even drive my Accord with summer tire in 2ft+ of snow, they even handle better that my maxima with Potenza RE92 A/S. My RE92 can't even handle 2 inch of snow and the tire so much more thread.

If it doesn't snow I say your good with summer tires. Most high performance summer tires have dry and wet traction.

P.S.
Both the rims and the YOK's are nice.Good luck with that setup.
