Low-profile 16'' tire -- within spec...

Alright, so I'm pretty close to scoring a set of 16'' lightweight Kazeras (16lbs). Now, the stock 215/55 tire is just a little too meaty for my liking, so I'd prefer to avoid that size. I want a lower profile to compensate for the 1'' decrease and make the new rims stand out a little more. What's a good upgrade size I should be looking at? And what mileage errors would I be seeing?

if you down the size of the tire, wouldnt it affect something? (ie: speed) they would also look too small on your car...

if you want the rims to stand out more, get bigger rims.

If you're going to a SMALLER rim, you need a BIGGER profile tire, not a smaller one!

Going with a lower profile tire on a smaller rim like a 16 will do several things:
- speedometer will be WAY out of spec
- wheel gap will be even bigger (if that's possible)
- ride will be less comfortable
- it will look cheesy (IMO, of course)

You'll lose a tiny bit of your top speed.

I guess I'll see how they look with the 215/55s that'll be on them. I was thinking of maybe bringing the sidewall down to a 50 -- just a slight decrease. Regardless, I still want to know a few options.

No, a very delayed response to Max.
