Hey guys i just picked up a set of alessio f1's they are 19x8.5 with a 42 offset, does any one know what size tires would fit good on my 99 maxima??

if you live in brooklyn, i would highly suggest you go with a 245/40/19. i belive there is a goodyear eagle f1 in that size. they are alittle more expensive, i think because it is a rare size. ive gone through 2 sets of 18's on 40 series tires in staten island and bent them all . if you go up a rim size, and down another tire size, itll look hot but i guarantee you dont make it 6 months before you start bending rims.. we dont live in the same areas as some of these other people.. you gotta keep that in mind

 

245/35/19 is what I and many others on 19's are running on our summer wheel setups.

What's that have to do with anything? The city of Columbus has spent $1mill since Jan 1st on pothole repair, so if that is the difference you're trying establish, it doesn't hold up. That's why I run 17" wheels and tires in the winter just like many others on this forum. I'm sure that the author of this thread was inquiring about summer wheels, not that he would be running 19" year round.

Back on topic, as he already owns the 19" wheels and in asking which tire size for those wheel specs, many run 245/35/19 as I mentioned before.

 

100% get 245/35/19 over 235/35/19

 

Im from Queens NY. I wouldnt drive a Max in that rathole of a city, let alone 19's......if you must, get 245/35's.........The extra 5 numbers of sidewall , won't make a difference when you drive thorugh the POS streets of Crooklyn.......

 

listen, i dont want to argue with you about "who has the worst steets", but the bottom line is, hes gonna bend those rims with 35's on them out here.. without a doubt, no questions asked.. the 40's will at least give him a little better of a chance, if he drives slow.. i have 8 18" rims that are bent from these streets.. i have another with a hole in the lip that looks like a spike went through it, and i have another rims thats completely broken.. granted, no tire is gonna withstand a hit like that, but this is how severe some spots are out here.. i would never recomend gettin 19's out here to begin with, but i would at least recomend he try to protect his investment. its not fun when u have to pay over $700 to buy a new rim and tire.. more than once..

 

trust me, ill be careful with 19's, this is nothing here ive never heard before about 19 inch rims in the city, thats exactly why i want to get the right size tires for here, i appreciate all your help and i found some Toyo Proxes and im probably going to buy them, plus i go to college in the city so i take the train everyday, so its not like im gonna be riding around all the time on them, im hoping the tires would last me over a yr though.... and for next winter im thinking of putting back my stock 15 wheels because i do have good miles left on them.... any1 think thats a good idea??

245/40 is too big. they will make your rim look like 17" rims and rub when you turn.

i disagree with everyone saying that 19's with 40's makes the rims look small.. it just looks like you actually have a tire. its a bigger rim with a smaller sidewall height that would come on a stock 6th gen. at any rate.. if you, or when they bend, i can tell you where you can go to have them fixed for $50.

 

I agree. I don't think they make them look smaller neither. Actually, aside from the whole setup being bigger, I think it looks better like you said "actually has a tire" and IMHO I also think the rim looks bigger. My boy has 18's and just got new tires which were a lil bigger and the rims just look bigger.

Now, I know ^^They^^ don't look small or close to 17's and the tire fills the wheel gap more nicely.

 

Has anyone put 255/35/19 tires on an 19"x8.5" rim with a pro-kit drop? I currently have 245s on my 19s and im thinking to bump them up to 255 if possible.
