All toyo passenger car tires are called Proxes. Toyo Proxes T1-S, Proxes FZ4, Proxes 4. Anyways the T1-S blows the rest out of the water if summer only performance is what you are looking for. No comparison whatsoever. The 4 in Proxy 4 and FZ4 means all 4 seasons.

He said summer only so I assume winter is not an issue for him.

FZ4 is not related to the T1S in any way. FZ4 is a high performance all season and T1S is max performance summer. The Proxes 4 replaced the FZ4.

Where's a good place to buy Toyo's? They are a great tire with lousy distribution!
Wish they would hook-up with Tire Rack or Discount Tire.

edgeracing has EXTREMELY fast shipping also (3 days for each of my sets from them).

I have the Proxes 4 in 235/40/18 (18x8 rim) and am extremely happy with them. They grip well in the rain and dry, and are very quiet compared to all the other tires I've used. They are an A/S tread, and ride is firm but comfortable. I do NOT use these for auto-x though.....they are not an UHP summer-only tire.......

not to mention they are fairly inexpensive....

From my experience, the Proxes 4 would probably grip well in auto-x, but have too much sidewall roll for my liking, and would get shredded pretty fast (they are fairly soft rubber).

I use the Proxes4 for daily driving, but for auto-x I will be using Hankook ventus R-S2.....
