Can someone give me a quick explanation?
Can someone give me a quick explanation?
Sorry for the trouble, but I've looked at some of the threads, and I dont understand anything, to be honest this is my first car 99 Maxima SE, pearl white, with chrome trims.
I want to put bigger rims on it I was thinking something like 18" or 19", but for what I see there is more to it than that, will anyone care to explain the necessary steps to do so, and while at it tell me about the vocab, such as offset and spoke...
any suggestions on the rims and tires I should look in to.

What exactly do you want to know?
Go with at least 8" or 8.5" wide. Offset should be between 30-42mm, most wheels are available with offsets that fall somewhere in that range.
Tires should be at least 245 for handling and rim protection.
What year is the car? That can affect wheel offset and tire width/profile.

Info on offset:

Positive Offset
A positive offset occurs when the hub mounting surface is on the street side (the side you see) of the center line of the rim. Most factory rims will have this type of offset.
Zero Offset
When the hub mounting surface is centered within the rim, it is known as a zero offset.
Negative Offset
If the hub mounting surface is on the brake side of the center line of the rim, it is considered a negative offset or "deep dish".

Don't recommend those specs to a first time aftermarket wheel/tire buyer. Handling and rim protection should be top priorities.
I've run 235/35-19 on my 96 and 99 Max for 4 yrs. No problems. 225/35-19 is the correct height as opposed to factory tires. 235/38 is a bit higher. I'm dropping my car a little more so I'm going to 225 which I ran 3 yrs ago with no problems. Looks better too. No sidewall.
235 sumitomo for example. 8.5" recommended. But the range is 8-9.5"
