Problem with rims - what should i do?

several months ago i bought wheels from 350z with tires on them [225/50/17 and 235/50/17], and recently got into an accident which made few scratches on one of the front ones and took out a big chunk of metal on the other one. the people at the shop said they couldnt balance it out because too much of a weight was lost, so the car vibrates now at 50+.

also another thing, since these tires are bigger than what people usually put [225/45/17], and the wheels themselves are heavier than the stock 15 steelies i had, the car doesnt accelerate as good.

i wanna find out is it worth to buy 2 new front wheels, and then put the right tires on them once mine wear out? or will the car still not accelerate as good because of the wheel weight?

any comments will be appretiated.
