Re: Wheel offset/width.

Hello fellow maxima driver. Just wondering if a 19x9.5 w/ 40 offset ( 4 wheels ) would be a good idea. I am planning in getting a set of volk racing SF challenge.

They will be fine for the rear, but probably not for the front, unless you're using 265/35/19's.

245/35/19 is too small a diameter for 5.5 gens. Use 245/40/19 and you'll be good to go. Plenty of tire choices in that size also.

245/35/19s would be the right size. 245/40/19 is bit taller

Incorrect, that would not be the right tire size. Perhaps you didn't notice he has a 5.5gen. A 245/35/19 mounted on a 9.5" wide wheel would be 25.6-.7" tall. Much shorter than stock, which will increase wheel gap, and make the speedo read higher than true speed.
5.5 SE's came with 225/50/17, giving a diameter of 25.9". GLE's had 215/55/17, giving a diameter of 26.3".
245/40/19 is great on 4th and 5th gens, and almost a must on 5.5gens. Our cars have larger fenders than 4th gens, and need quite a bit of rubber to fill them up.

5 gen and 5.5 gen 17s have same size wheels and tires. 225/50/17s are 25.9" 245/35/19s are 25.8" and 245/40/19s are 26.7"

3.5L 5th gens have taller tires, Larrio is correct. IMO, a 255 or 265 /35/19 would be best for the wheels in question.

BTW Jay23, why that particular width and offset?

are you saying that 5.5th gen doesn't come w/ 225/50/17s?

The 225/50R17 RE92s were the only stock "offerings" that came with the SE. Forget the height, use the crapenzas' 804 revs per mile. Figure how many revs per mile the new tire combo will be and see how far off they are from the 804 revs per mile.
