Tire rotation

Im thinking of buying a craftsman floor jack to paint my calipers, but then I thought I could use it to save $20 on each tire rotation. Do any of you do this? If so, is it ok to just rotate front to back and not from corner to corner? Because If I jack up one side at a time it will be far easier to just transfer the driver side front to the driver side rear and the same on the other side. I know this isnt how you are supposed to rotate tires, but do you think its ok to do on a pretty new car with perfect alignment? These are GY Eagle F1 DS-3's so I want them to wear perfectly. It will also come in handy for the winter tire switch. Thanks

Directional tires are rotated back to front. Non-directional tires are rotated in the above manner. I've always rotated my tires just back to front.

So ya have no problem sliding a jack under the middle of the car, jacking up the whole side and going from front to back? I have Goodyear Eagle F1's, so these should always stay on one side of the car then? These are definately super hi performance directional tires. I thought all tires should go from corner to corner.
