Help! Tire/Rim width question...

I currently have 19x7.5 ADR Gt Sport rims on BFGoodrich 225/35/19's. What I'm wondering is if I bought some 19x8 rims, will I have to buy new tires too? Dont know if this is a dumb question or not, but a tire place I called said they thought they'd fit and I wanted to ask the forum guys. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Yes, it is a dumb question b/c it's been answered countless times in this sub forum. Just scroll through the top few pages. Wait...you've got search capability too? Not another word...

I don't know if your specific question is in the stickies, so...

A 235/35-19 size tire will fit on a rim width of 7.5-9.0", but fits ideally on an 8.0" wheel rim. Hope that helps.
