quiet soft riding tires

for the maximas that have 65 series tires - what would be a good choice if you wanted a quiet soft riding tire (that is, not "handling" as the strongest point).
I think my 99 has always had a hard jittery ride.

any softer riding quieter tires?

I remember reading on tirerack.com that Goodyear Comfort Treads were very smooth and quiet. I almost bought them but I wanted to go for better handling.

We went through all this back in June and SteVTEC eloquently lambasted those tires. They aren't meant for a sports sedan like the Maxima. A Buick Park Avenue, maybe, but not a Maxima.

I have Yokohama Avid H4s on my car and know someone with an SE who has Yokohama V4s (higher speed rating) and we are both very happy with the performance/traction of these tires (at the price point). I would recommend them highly and plan on replacing mine with exactly the same in 30k or so.

i have the st-115's... they are very quiet, but not high on my comfort chart. they are a little softer than the nitto's i had, but if you want somethin soft, go with an all seanson. the st-155's are not, and are absolutely horrible in the snow.. they are a summer "sport" tire.. they are not whay you are looking for. granted im running a 17" rim, and a 45 series, but the thread is not deep on them at all.

Toyo Proxes 4....even with my 40 sidewall on my 18's the ride is still pretty good. The guy up the street from me has a 3rd gen with these tires on his stock rims, and he said the ride is soft (too soft for his crazy driving, I think).

Mine have been very quiet on the highway so far, they rarely if ever squeal on hard maneuvers, and are great in the rain and decent in the snow.

+1 for Proxes4s.
Had them installed on some 02 SE 17s this weekend. Although I had cheapie Big-O tires on stock 15s, went from a 215/60R15 to a 235/45R17, and the Proxes4s are so much more quiet and comfortable that it's not even fair to compare the two.
