tire sizes

I'm about to get new tires for the car and I was wondering if the sizes matter since the one's I'm about to get are 225/45/WR17 opposed to the original 225/50/VR17.

Now: original Bridgestone Potenza RE92 225/50/VR17
Soon: Kumho ECSTA ASX 225/45/WR17

Those tires will work on the 5th gen 17's. Look in the wheel and tire section and search a little next time.

225/45/17 tires look kinda smallish. on the other hand, 225/50 are alittle oversized, 5th gen comes with shorter final gear 3.78 (auto)

Stick with 50 series. That's what I have in the picture, you need that extra tire on the harsh roads of NYC.

I guess it was the profile that I was thinking about.

No problem. Just search tirerack.com for reviews first.
