Rim dilemna

Well Im in the market for new rims. I have two choices but I need opinions. The first choice is a set of TSW Thruxton 19" or 20". The second choice is a set of Axis Hiro's 19". I really want 20" but I think 19" would be fine, just need a second or third or fourth opinion! (Any photoshops for me would be a plus, pics in my cardomain sig)

TSW Thruxton (19" or 20")

Axis Hiro (19")

what color is the top rim?

I love the look of black chrome w/ a silver lip. I'm thinking about powder coating the ones I have.

Good luck man choosing wheels is the worst, my new ones are arriving tomorrow!!!

so my buddy who works at town fair tire called me to tell me the TIS wheels I liked were just mounted on an acura with z-rated tires this morning. The guy came back this afternoon and returned them because he said his wife flipped out. He paid $2500 for the whole shabang --- they gave him back 2200...

Make a long story short my friend calls me and says this leaves them in a predictament and I could probably get them for cheaper.... So I said find out how much the manager we'll let them go for I'll come down right away if the price is right....he comes back withh $2200...

So needless to say I gotta break it down for the joker...I go there and tell him look I don't care if they've been driven 5 miles...bottom line is they're used...period end of story...and I offered him 1500 --- he said no 2200...I said see ya later

but now my friend just called me and said that guy was talking to the regional manager and told him what happened today and the regional guy was mad because apparently they're not supposed to sell used tires...i.e.. no returns...but its too late he already gave the dude back his money....then I came up and he told my frined that he can't do 1500 but he'll give me 20% off the best deal I can find....

Problem is the lowest I've seen them is for $369 just the wheel never mind z-rated tires....

tis 06

20 X 8.5 chrome fwd

any help is appreciated....google hasn't come through for me tonight....lol

Nah 19s are great. I would go with those Axis Hiros in gunmetal. Check around because you can get Axis wheels from Henrik when he has specials. I love my new wheels. and I got them little to nothing from him.

The axis rims on maximas are pure sex... I would go with 19's anyway... I dont like 20's (yes, I am a hater).

Yeah I would go for 20's but they dont make the Axis Hiro's in 20's. 19's are the highest...thats why I wouldnt mind a photoshop or something to help me make my decision. So what rims are you slappin on the Max now?

I'm liking the TSW Thruxton.....tire prices will probably keep me in the 18" range. Tires for 19' and 20', seem to lose selection and pay more to.

My 2 cents anyway.

Axis Hiros in 19" would look good, IMO. I'm not a big fan of the riveted look that the TSW has.

The reverbs are nice and very unique b/c of there hallow spoke design. But be forewarned that the silver "axis" emblem is a sticker that will eventually start peeling off within a few months. A 4th gen friend of mine has them and his peeled off very quickly.

Yes the Reverbs are hot! And they come in 20", another reason why I want them more. Going from 20's to 19's would hurt my feelings a little. The sticker wouldnt be a problem for me anyway, not a fan of them.

I believe they are also light wheels that are good for track use.... and I actually like that the sticker comes off, if I could get em without that nasty sticker I would.

Yeah they are suppose to be really light, which is why they are hollow. I would have gotten them, but when I bought the Hiro's, they weren't on the market yet.

Yes! I like the reverbs much better than the Hiro's for sure!! As for the sticker they'd be gone before they were even on my car!!!!

Hey blakima2k4 either wheels would look real nice. I wouldn't even consider getting 19's on your car. Those type of wheels look smaller cause the spokes drops in the wheel leaving that 1 inch gap in between the spoke and lip.

Being light and hollow is great for the track , but for everyday driving this could mean wheels bending easier due to unstable road conditions and having race wheels on a heavy sedan.

That's somewhat debatable, IMO. The Reverbs have been recommended for auto-x and road race purposes, and so I'd think that they will be able to withstand a lot of stress. If you're talking solely potholes and the like, then you might be right, but I still think that if rims can withstand the stress from an auto-x, they'd be strong enough to hold up to most other things, except maybe the biggest holes/debris on the road.

Anyways, Blaxima is in the VA Beach area, and from what I recall, the roads there were not too bad. At least, that's what it was like around the beach. Its been a while since I've been down there.

22's take away from the look of the car, not suttle. I really like the Hiro's I just wish they came in a 20 and i would buy them. I don't know how well your black max will look with gun metal wheels. The black rim suites your car well. A shiny chrome or a polished look would be nice.

IMO your max is put together well.

I know but Im trying to steer away from the whole chrome thing. I wanna try something different. I dont want just polished cuz I wanna keep the whole "dark" color theme. The painted black rims are an annoyance to me now, taking that the paint is chipping away slowly but surely and up close it looks horrible.

Well I did some window shopping today. A friend of mine who knows a few people helped me get a good deal on a set of 20x8.5 TSW Catalunya's for $1,000. There in a hyper black finish...its more of a dark silver on the base of the wheel, the lip is machined polished. I havent made the purchase yet but the deal is on the table still. Heres a few pics...tell me what you guys think. (maybe a photoshop could help me make the decision...*cough, photoshop guys,*cough)

*EDIT*
Changed my mind...AGAIN. Im going for the TSW Kyalami's. So many decisions...
