225/45/17 for stock rims?

My stock tires are 225/50/17, would 225/45/17 work? I would try to figure it out myself but I need an answer quick.
Thanks

it'll fit..might want to get a 235mm width. lost something in height, make it up on girth.

You'll accelerate faster with smaller tires. cheap man's way to increase final drive ratio.

that is true. i just bought a set of toyo t1-r's in 225/45 on my stock wheels. they are so much more responsive than the crappy dunlop fm901's in 235/45 i had previously. even my ventus k104's were better but none of them sucked like my stock craptenzas
