18" tire chains

ON the 2005 Maxima SE wheels are tire chains allowed? I'm trying to track down some (it's snowing out) and one fellow said we can't fit them on the 18" X 245 tires, since they're so tight in the wheel well.
If so any suggestions for traction devices?
(I'm not sure if this belongs in the tires section or this section due to the specificity. Do with it what you will)

Snow chains... damn, it must be snowing like a **** out there. If it gets to that point I think you should have a beater truck that you can drive or something...

FWIW, I don't think the 18s are that tight in the car that you can't have chains on though... I know there's a big gap in the front and a significant one in the back, but I could be wrong.

DAMN!!! hell yea get a truck.

but, dude I put 22x9 inch rims on the max wich are 2" higher and 1.5" wider than the stock wheel. you can find out how thick the chain is and go with those messurement I gave you. you should be fine until you go to "U" turn hard. the plastic wheel well will start to get hit with them.

Traction Devices

I will be getting snows as soon as I track down some 17" rims , but winter is out of the gate early this year here in Seattle. Besides I wanted to have traction devices I could throw in the trunk for emergencies when I don't have the snows on yet (like now).
Anyone had experience with Go Claws or from Costco, Sno-Claws on 18" with the 04, 05, 06 Maxima? These are tight clearance plastic wraparound devices ( from Flex-Trax). They sound like they may work, but I'd like to hear from someone that has used them.

I own an 04 Max SE 6 speed (245/45/18), and with no traction control it could get tough driving in the winter. Curious to see some feeback on these "GoClaws" for 2004-2006 model Maximas.
