How to pursue a warranty claim on a tire? BULGE IN TIRE!! :nupe500:

Alright, so I noticed a freaking bulg on the side of one of my Michelin Pilot Sport A/S tires, fawking wonderful.

A bulge is a weakspot aka a defect in workmanship, correct? It can't be the wheels, I have never hit anything other than pavement with them.

Thanks in advance, fellas.

I'm actually trying the same thing with the same tires. I have a bulge in one of mine and I have tried almost EVERY tire retailer and everyone won't even concider giving me another under warranty... They claim I hit a curb at "an extremely high speed" which is The reason they gave me for thinking I hit a curb is "the Pilots have an extremely stiff sidewall and normal driving wouldnt cause it to bulge." They even went as far as to dismount the tire and point to the bulge while saying "look the rim hit it here," but all I see is a bulge so I dont know how they could say that. I'm not one for causing a scene, but I'm a college student that cant afford to replace a $200 tire if I dont have to, so next time I think that might be my course of action. Good luck with yours.

You'd have to take it back to where you bought it from. That is the only place that can give you a new tire/pro-rate on a new one. Most likely with a bulge in the tire though, they will say that it was caused by a pot-hole but that is undeterminable until the tire is taken off the rim. If there is a portion of the tire that is pinched together and/ripped/damaged where the bulge is, you're SOL. They won't do anything for you.
