Tire Size

I can’t decide between 245-40-18 or 235-40-18 for my 2003 maxima. Which is a better choice? I was going to get 225-45-18 since it is closet to stock but I want a wider wheel. I hope people don't start referring me to the calculator. I am looking for opinions.
Thanks

How wide of a rim do you plan on running?

If you are getting winter tires, narrower the better. If you are getting summer tires, wider the better. We need to know how wide your wheels are though

I am not sure right now. But I do know it is either 18 by 8 or 8.5.

Summer - I am looking at the BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW-2 or the Toyo T1R.

But won’t the tires stick out to far and/or bulge over the rim with 245?

I was looking at another member’s car who has 245/18 and his tires stick out pretty far. Or maybe the picture was bad I’m not sure.

I was running 245/40/18s on 18x8.5 and they looked fine to me. I could have gone w/ 235s but went w/ 245s for little bit extra rubber.

Go w/ 235s if the wheels are 8" wide. Go w/ 245s or 255s if the wheels are 8.5" wide
