Hmmm...did I **** up?

Saturday I am mounting some 18'' GUNMETAL G35c rims/new tires on a SILVER GLE 5th gen. Is this going to look all right? Anyone with pics of gunmetal rims on a silver 5 gen? It would make sense to get silver rims on a silver car, right? Nope, I got gunmetal. HA. I really hope it looks good.

I like it Ammi, the exact same car I have yet you have a bit more into yours. I don't know anything except how to change tails, HID headlights and foglights. Basically lighting and that's it. Nice car. My 18s wont have the silver lip but hopefully they look all right. Thanks

there is not an ENTIRE THREAD ABOUT G35 WHEELS IN THE STICKIES, I guess

and the G 18's are not "gunmetal," they are a lighter color - unless you had them painted. Gunmetal is much darker

stop the silliness now.

Sorry Irish, I need some help. The hell with the color, these DON'T EVEN FIT! The axle sticks out too far so the center cap won't even pop on! Unbelievable. The tireman showed me on his computer that my car needed 38-45 mm offset and these are 30 mm. UGH. I don't know what do do now. Please help!

"the tireman" is an idiot...

look at my car. look at my wheels. They are 18x8 G35 wheels with a 30mm offset. They fit fine. So will yours......

Like I said, i'll send you pics tomorrow of what you need to do to make the center caps fit......

how close are they to fitting....do they go in, but just don't "click" in?

A HA, so I just spoke to O.E. WHEEL DISTRIBUTORS LLC and they said there should have been spacers included. Hopefully this is the solution, they are overnighting to me today.

Thanks for all the help gents.

I should be getting mine this week; I ordered the gunmetal ones too. How was the experience over all, minus the missing spacers? I've got an 03, will I need spacers too? If you have any pics put them up... Thanks.

Well, the experience has been a horrid one. The spacers didn't work. This has been a nightmare.

You should NOT need spacers in order to have the center caps fit.

1) How much is the "mis-fit"? Should only be maybe 1/8" or so.
2) Have you tried tapping the dust covers in a bit so the center cap would fit?

Hmm you SURE you have the real Infiniti G35 18" Coupe wheels in 18x8 30mm offsets? And not the REPLICAS that measure out to 18x7.5 and god knows what offset?

HAHAHA, I have the shtbag replicas. Not a good idea, I realize that now. The box says they are 30mm offset. Ugh, I wish I saw this sticky prior to purchasing. The mis-fit is much more than an eighth of an inch, and its in the FRONT, not the rear like I have been reading. Unbelievable that the company tells me that they forgot to send spacers, then they send me some joke universal spacers that are not hubcentric.

The solution was to return and receive a refund and start over again. I would advise to steer clear of replicas.

How cooperative were they with the return? How much did it cost you?

What size spacers did they send you? After a little research I found out that the stock nissan rims are not "hub centric", they are "lug centric" from what I can remember the aftermarket ones are "lug centric" too. They are sending me the spacers. I hope that I can get them to work. I test fit them and they fit other than the center caps not fitting on the front ones. I'm not sure how a 01 and 03 may be different regarding the hubs but I'll give it a try and post the results.

Nissan wheels are hubcentric and not very "lug centric" or whatever you call it. The lug nuts do help center the wheel on the lugs but hub bore on the wheel is the most helpfull in centering the wheel on the hub

Yes, the wheels "fit." They were the correct bolt pattern. However, the axles stuck out too far for the centercaps to pop on. My too far I mean in excess of one inch. No "banging of a mallet" would have solved the problem.

The Nissan Technician I was talking to said the same thing. He told me that the NIssan trucks are "hub centric" and the cars can be either. My stock rims have a taper on the hub bore. When I put them back on I have to be real careful when tightening the lug nuts so the rim is seated on the lugs. Once the spacers get here I'll see whats up and make my decision from there.
