I dont know much about cooper but I am also about to buy some tires. I recommend the Goodyear Assurance Tripletread tires, they are rated number 1 in consumer reports and if you look at them, the look amazing! They also have the best ratings on tirerack.com as well. I would definately go with those for anyone looking to buy new tires.

I have a set of Cooper snow tires for my Maxima and they have been good. They are five years old (put them on only in the winter) and they have held up very well with no flats and no leak problems.

I don't know anything about the regular tires, though.

What size tire are you looking at getting? That seems like a lot for a stock tire, unless you have 17s or 18s. It doesn't say in your info what year and model Max you have.

i have been running the cooper lifeliner 225/50/17 for about 2 years now. I have had no problems or complaints. Finally they are starting to slip in the snow. I went to them in order to get rid of the potenzas

I ran cooper cobras (215/55/16) for about 4 years and 60,000 miles and they still have tread left on them. but they don't ride that well and never did.

You think $550.00 is a lot for 4 tires? I think thats pretty darn cheap....I have an 04 se 245/45/18. I dont like ym goodyear RSA's at all...just dont. they dont make the assurance you are talkin about in the size i need...i am also thinking of the michelin pilots, but dont know much about them either. I have seen some good deals on ebay.

Cooper Avon Tech550

Highly recommended @tirerack.com. I have a set of 245/45-18V since 7kmiles ago. Very solid, beefier, better braking than the RSAs. Same noise level, I don't know if they will start howling at around 20kmiles like the RSAs. The treads still look new. They look sporty. The only bad is the sidewall art design, too simple, I rather they don't etch anything on them. But i'm happy so far.
Tirerack is the only place selling them. But America/Discount tires can price-match (tax included, even Tirerack don't charge tax for many). I ended up only paid <$10/each for installation+road hazard+lifetime balance/rotation. A lot cheaper than order from Tirerack and have the store instal them.

Hey guys sorry I have a couple of noob quesitons.....recently while I was driving for like 20 minutes (blasted music) I realized my passenger rear tire was making all these crazy loud sound and smelled funny after I hit the streets.......I dunno much about tire but I knew something was wrong, I touch the tire and it seem like it was losing air....i thought it was a flat so I brang it to the shop to fix the tire. However, the mechanic said the tire was unfixable and it was not a flat. He wasnt able to fix the wheel because the inside got all messed up so I had to buy a new tire (Cooper Lifeliner Touring SLE (VR) ) 215/55/17....I told my dad that the wheel felt funny and shaky before this but the ironic thing was it was on the driver rear side that I felt the little minor shaking, but somehow the passenger rear got messed up first....so few weeks later ... So today I brang my car to change my oil in the Exxon Mobil gas station....when the mechanic lifted up the car he realized one my tire was no good (driver rear) ...he told me I was gonna have problems soon if i kept on driving because the tire is melting inside?...so I had to buy another tire.....same tire Cooper Lifeliner...first purchase was 144$ and then 127$

1) I didnt get a chance to ask the mechanic, but how do the tire melt inside? Is this consider the tire wearing out? How can I tell if a tire is wearing out?
2) In addition, he put both of the Cooper Tires and mount them into the front wheels..and took the front 2 and put it in the back..he told me it was better.....but now since driving it feel different and the back feel wierd? He told me the 2 tires were still decent Why would it be better to put the good tires in front since the rear wheels seem like the ones getting mess up...just wondering?
3) Are the wheel I am purchasing good since it seem expensive? The first time the passenger rear tire got messed up, the shop only had that tire, so I had to buy that tire.....And is my width and profile good for a maxima? It seem many people in this forum have a profile of 45>.... And say if I change the profile or width, will it be able to still fit the rims if it r17? What would be the best width and profile?

Sorry for all these noob questions..but thanks! PLuS I have a Maxima Gle 2002

I've been running the Zeon ZX2s 235-45-17 for a couple of months now and I love them. The are rated the same as the Toyo Proxies 4, but cost a little less. That is why I decided to go with Cooper.
