im ready to buy new set of rims. they are motegi MR7 16x7 and offset 42mm
somewhere i have read that i can use rims with offset 35-40mm .
and my question is. that extra 2mm is it a big problem, do i need any spacers or something to fit that wheels in my car??

You need spacers if you want good wheel fitment, where the outside of the rim is flush with the fender. If you dont want good fitment; they will probably fit, but look sunken in. You have to get into consideration if it will clear your brakes also with that high offset.
