offset question

there is a good deal on some 18x7.5 ALT Rival rims, but they have a 43 mm offset. Is this too much of an offset? If it is, what is a good offset?

Use the offset calculator in the stickys. It knows all. Easy to use also.

stock offset is 45mm. Most people get anything in-between 45 and 30.

what kind of tires are you planning to get?

I'm not sure, any suggestions...... I'm on a budget too, just really like these wheels and they are at a great price in my opinion. If I buy these, it will be with my refund money.....

Sorry, figured you would have researched that as much cr@p as people give around here for not checking stuff out yourself first.
I was able to get all my stock and aftermarket wheel info on this forum without the search option. Did take like 3 hours the first time though.

I'm not sure what's the best tire size for those wheels but, what ever size you choose don't buy tires with outer diameter larger than stock. I think 235/40-18 should be fine.

To choose the right brand, go to tirerack.com and read their reviews, also check out this thread: http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=441191

you'll be fine w/ that offset. I would throw some 5mm spacers though

What kind of effect would the 5mm spacers have on the centering ring on the hub??

You mean hubcentric rings? You'll need those w/ any aftermarket rims and the spacers won't have any effect.

I guess what I ment to ask is; if I have aftermarket rims and add the 5mm spacers do I also need the hub centric rings too?

hub ring is for your rims, not for spacers. Wether you add any spacers or not, you'll need hubcentric rings.
