Bent Rim - Repair or replace?

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to know whether a bent rim is usually worth repairing or replacing?

To give you an idea of my situation, hit a deep pothole last night that flattened the tire (the tire ended up being slightly dislodged off the rim). It also bent a part of the lip on the inside (opposite the spokes). The affected portion is about 2-3" along the circumference and pushed in about half an inch.

Would it be practical to try and have it repaired? or should I just get a used replacement? (I have the stock 16" 5-spoke alloy rims from the 98 SE.)

Finally, if you know of any rim repair locations in NYC, please let me know.

Thank,
J

same thing happened to me on my 18s, hit a pot hole goin 80, dented the inside lip of the rim. (also broke control arm and needed to get a new axle.) anyways, theres a place i took my rim to in branford, ct. he fixed it for 85 bucks. ur in nyc, so its like 2 hrs away. id say just get it fixed if you could. buying a new rim might be expensive.
