I'm going to guess "summer tires"
Bang for the buck Kumho MX or the Hankook RS212 have been popular. Falken FK451 has been popular or go for the RT615s

(Not to hijack the thread or anything) but i'm also lookin for new tires for my 05 max and I've been looking at some summer tires. I'm not sure how they are in the rain tho. Is it possible to use a summer tire as a all season tire also?
It doesnt snow where i live, just rain once in a while.

Most summer tires are fine in the rain. There are some "dry" tires BFG KD for example. Summer tires are not good for snow/mud/ or cold weather. The compounds they use for summer tires tend to be slick and hard in cold weather. The work fine once they have some heat in them.

Great, Thanks

Those are exactly the tires that i wanted to know about. they're rated #1 on tire rack and theyre only about $160 each. the 2nd rated tire is one of the pirelli Pzero Nero M+S i believe, that one is a all-season tire and has the same level of grip as the BFG but it costs about $215.

I know a guy with the Toyo T1s and he loves them. He has maybe 2k miles on them and no complaints.

I have the kelly/springfield version (EVO-Z) of the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D2 and I am extremely happy with them -- both dry traction and in the rain. I assume the F1 GS-D3s are even better, but have no experience with them.

I would highly recommend mine, but some people on this site gave me crap about buying kelly/springfield. Goodyear owns K/S, the tires are made at the same US plant with the same materials and same design. I think they slightly changed the rubber compound to improve longevity, but it still grips like a ****. I have lots of suspension mods done to my car (Eibachs, Tokicos, front and rear stb, rsb) and my tires still outperform my car. I can push it like crazy and the car doesn't slide around on the tires.
