Wider tires?

I have a 4th gen with the stock SE wheels, does it makes sense to go to 225 tires over the stock 215....im assuming that you can get more grip out of a wider tire....are there any issues with doing that?

225s are a little wide for the stock wheel. I and other people have run 225/50/16 on the stock wheel, I however doubt there much performance gained with that setup. To get max performance out of a tire, it needs to be properly supported.

What about going 215/50/15, less side wall = less flex ??
Tire rack has some BFG G-force sport at thise size.http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....e1=yes&place=0

With the 225/50/16 It may be wider but the tire will feel bouncy and have a softer sidewall feel due to it not being properly supported.
