I tried to get a sponsorship from them, but I think all their money is going into their drift team...

I actually have new tires on my car already. Same as the ones they sent me. I will be saving the ones I got today for the 2007 show season & I'll probably mount them on new rims(new sponsorship perhaps???).

It wasn't easy...

Altogether it's been about a years worth of work. Going to shows, SERIOUS (6-8 pages) sponsorship proposal letters, emails, phone calls, etc. Alot of TIME & EFFORT went in to it...

nah...too much work. Tell your sponsors to send me some 6" Hankook decals and I'll put em on my magnetic side sheets during events......no sponsorship required. i'll do it because I'm a nice guy and their tires are a great deal...cheap and good

Sponsorship means they get to "suggest" to me what to do/what tire to use/etc.....I like my freedom and I can afford cheap track tires

Call 'em...you might get contingency $ for running their tires at events...

yeah, I will apply for contingency if I finish top-3 in any of the SCCA events, that is for sure. I know about their program. Unfortunately, the chances of me finishing top-3 are slim, considering I run in SM class, where I am heavily overmatched by virtue of driving a maxima

Best SCCA finish last year was 4th in STU class (which is almost entirely made up of Subaru STI's....I beat 2 of them at that event )

btw, a 5th gen is about 3200 lbs, which is about 1 1/2 tons, not 2 1/2

the max can hold its own....but top-3 in class this year (running SM) would be a MAJOR upset to the other cars in that class.
