Rota Slipstreams

Okay, I think we may have a winnar, $500 shipped for a new set, 16x7, +40mm, 5x114.3mm, and 13lbs apiece: http://www.jaydm.com/slipstream.htm

Does anyone have anything negative (or positive) to say about these? I like that they're 5 spoke although I'm not sure how they'd look on a 4th gen. Photoshopping is also very welcome.

Oh yeah, if you happen to know where I could pick up a used set, that wouldn't exactly hurt either, hehe.

I had those wheels on my Integra. They are light as hell. But to be perfectly honest I think they will look kind of weird on a max im not saying ugly or bad just weird. But hey its up to you. Why dont you just buy my 17s im selling em cheap. check em out
http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=453863

But if your dead set on getting them check the recycler.com i found this for you call them maybe cheaper.

Yeah, I know they'll look sort of strange, but I kinda like how they look, they have a good offset, size, light as hell, I can put my almost new 16" tires on em, and they're cheap.
The main issue that concerns me is that it looks like my rusty hubs will be showing through the "extra" lug holes, and possibly the end of my axle, clip and all.

Hmm. I do like the idea of 5th gen 17s but I'd need tires... would you be willing to meet me halfway if I can find some tires for the right price?

yup. Just let me know if you find em. send me an email or pm me

as for the rust if you do decide to get the rotas you can just spray paint it black while the rims are being changed.

I run 16" Gunmetal Slipstreams on my rears. Here's some pics.

The darker color really makes em look smaller than they are - both front's & backs are 16" in those. They clean up easy and seem solid so far. wheeldude.com (same as SubyDude) is a huge dealer and had good service for me. $505 shipped for a set incl free lugs.

Hmm, they really do look small. I like 'em though. I think in the end I'm just going to wind up picking up some 5th gen 17s, but a set of those for autox or something would be pretty leet... why'd you go with koseis in front?

I agree with most people here. Leave the Rota for Hondas.

Do you know that 300zx wheels are 16x7.5 and 16lbs each? They fit all year Maxima(and other Nissan) and they're < $400!!!

Check out this thread.

I probably will never put above a 17" wheel on my car, but those do look a bit small. Trust me, I can appreciate a 16" wheel, that's why I started this thread.

If you intend to do any track or autox work, the Rotas are not a bad choice. If all you intend to do is cruise and chill then maybe another wheel would work as far as looks go.
For me it's always about form and function over looks. Lighter weight is always better in my book. Besides, it's your money.

I never really liked the way z32 wheels looked on a Max, but I may consider them anyway as I don't have many options here.

And yes, lighter is always better... but usually it's not worth the price you have to pay. I'm still in love with SSR GT2s..
