looking at getting some new wheels

i'm looking at getting some SSR Professor SP1s. but i'm not sure if they will fit or not. it's 18x9 with a 31+ mm offset...

will these work or will they be to wide?

I believe Larrio is running an 18x9 35mm offset....but hes only pushing 245 wide tires....I'm not sure how the rubbing is on his car though

31mm seems like its pushing it though

It will rub at 31mm offset if:

1. you are at full lock and hit bumps
2. if you hit pot holes or dips that compress the suspension enough laterallly

The front suspension cambers when it compresses so you can play it safe by stretching a smaller tire onto the wheel. It will rub though, but eventually you see that the areas where it is rubbing is due to the stupidly designed bumps in the plastic wheel well.

new rims again??? i think more than likely your 300zx's will not clear a +31 offset. you'll need spacers

I thought the lower the offset, the higher the chance it will clear big brakes? Thats why people say to get spacers, when their rims dont clear the BBK...spacers = lower offset

the lower the offset the more clearance you get.

I heard negative camber helps...but people say to roll your fenders before you put negative camber...do you have your fenders rolled brian?

If your okay with wearing out your tires, negative camber is the way to go...but that still doesn't guarantee that u won't rub....just a possibility

negative camber would help at a minimal margin since it won't change the way your suspension geometry when it compresses.

You can't roll the front fender really, its mostly the plastic wheel well that rubs with the tire. And lower offset doesn't necessarily mean more BBK clearance, it depends on spoke design and hub thickness. This would be the reason why Volks are so popular since they offer the high-disk (BBK clearing) and low-disk (lip and curved spokes) version
