Cost of aftermarket wheels.

I plan on getting new wheels for my ONYX Max very soon and need some help.
First off I am looking for 19's (I currently have an SL with stock 17s)
I don't care about chrome, as a matter of fact right now I am leaning towards a black, bronze or gun metal.
I want something that doesn't cost too much and is blend of looks and (light weight) performance.
I am open to all suggestions.

Thanks in advance.

Please post your choice of wheels after voting in poll.
Please do not pick the amount that you are willing to pay, I am looking for specific info about the actual cost of the wheels.

Please post links if available.

I didnt vote yet because I would say aim for whatever is in your price range. I got a good deal on my Axis 19s and the tires werent bad either, total I think I pad around $1275.

Nismo 19's (gunmetal) I think are the best for performance. They are like $400/pc. But lightweight and strong enough to absorb those potholes in BK. I think if u go any bigger (20's), u add more weight to the car, plus damage is a lot more feasible with low profile tires while u're going fast. Unless u plan on going slow and show off ur ride.

Do you have any pics?
I am hoping that I don't have to spend more than $1,500, is this realistic?

Would anyone suggest throwing some 22s on a Max? I've seen a couple on Cardomain, and I really like the look of a Maxima with 22s. Is it a difficult task and how much would those run (I assume they'd fit in the >$3000 range)?

Mine were about $1600. A-Tech rims; Lightweight, bronze, good looking. Love them. Sumitomo tires, way better than stock rubber.

I just bought thease

ebay item 8049798912

HEHEHEHEHE, they for my ride to fit over the Willwood break kit I'm hoping to have on my baby next week.

I also ordered Toyo Proxes Tr1 245/40/19 rears and 255/40/19 fronts. Yes larger up front for better balance and grip, I couldnt believe I saw the new GP GTX with stock sizing like that except 18, turns out the engineers spent alot of time developing sizing like this for ideal balance for FWD vehicles.

These were my first wheels. 18" HP evos, chrome lip(not polished or machined) powder coated black. Staggered 18 x 8 front and 18 x 9 rear.
38 mm offset on the stock RS-A's
Cost for wheels only $900 nice wheels but you get what you pay for.
SOLD WITH TIRES.

New Wheels: 19" NISMO wheels. 21lbs forged wheels. Made by Rays Engineering same makers as VOLK. Real deal. Cost with tires $2400. Tires are 245/40/19's Hankook Ventus.

I say get forged wheels OEM infinity G35 19's. GO WITH WHAT YOU CAN AFFORD. BUT DONT BUY JUNKY STUFF. MY .02, you get what you pay for.

I am currently working a deal with a guy over at g35driver.com for a set of those wheels for about $1,200 (they are also made by rays).
What do you guys think?

How can you see at night with 35% tints on your windsheild?

BTW
Nice looking Max. IMO all you need is a nice power coated grill.

Oh my friend... The car has changed many times since those pics.
I have the nismo's, gril, greddy exhasut.well read my sig.

Also the tints i am used to it. Had a Hemi Ram with double limo on the windows and 35% on the winshield.

I had a tropper pull me over and have me remove the 35% on the front windshield on the side of the highway, that was about a year after i had it. and last week, i got pulled over for my side windows. 4 % on those according to the tropper.

Tek-Niq,
To be honest with you, you're one of the reason I fell in love with the 6th generation Max. I seen your car on CarDomain several months ago and those 22s just stole my heart Every since then, I've been researching and saving up to but me a 05 Max and sit it on some 22s (not the exact ones you have). Did you have to cut anything to make them fit and how does your car ride? Have you had any major problems with the wheels? 19s and 20s are cool and everyone on his has nice whips, but its just something about those 22s!

I appreciate the comment man, I'm glad I could bring something different for a change to our 6thgen industry..

as for cutting and rubbing ect ect, you will only rub on the rear on stock suspension. other guys on 22's have gotten spring spacers to raise the car to it don't rub back there, I chose to go with coils cause I didn't want to raise it that much, I just needed the car to be stable and stiff so it cuts down on body roll and ****.. the coils set right and teamed up with a sway bar, you can drop it to the point of no wheel gap like I have and not rub with a full car..

the front has more little issues, on stock suspension is fine, but drop it like me and the wheel well will have to be trimmed some. there is some plastic piece that sticks out too much that will rub againts the tire. behind that there's a metal peice that will require about an inch of trim.

other than that is all good, and will only rub if you have a 22x9" on U turns..

my car rides great, bumps can be alittle annoying sometimes, but on good roads and highways is perfect.

you don't have to go coils and swaybar, the cheapest is to just raise the rear some and you'll be all set, but the front wheel gap will get to you..lol.

let me know if anything..

thanx again, TEK..

If I am wrong I'm sorry but they are racing rims so I don't imagine them being heavy
