Can I run 245-45-17 Tires on my stock 03 Ti Rims?
I'm thinking about getting Nitto NT555R 245-45-17 Drag Radials, and was wanting to find out if they would fit my 03 Ti Wheels?
let me know your thoughts!

they will technically *fit* but I would not drive on regular roads with that setup. Drag only, you should be ok....but that wide a tire could come off the rim under heavy cornering. If it is a specialized drag radial, though, it may have a narrower inner bead - I would check Nitto's homepage for the minimum rim width for that size.

Thanks for the help!
According to Nitto's website this is the standard for that size:
7.5-(8.0)-9.0
What's the width of the 02/03 Ti Wheel? And the 02/03 GLE Wheel?
vnt
they 02-03 ti wheels are 7 wide...and so are the 02-03 GLE wheels...
you should be okay if you specifically use it for DRAG only....but why bother with the nearly 24lbs 17x7 stock 02-03 rims? invest in a few hundred dollars more and get a real racing only rim...

I was going to use it for "drag" only. Hell its hard to find a lightweight 17" wheel, thats reasonably priced!!! Heck what does everyone do in regards to drag radials for these cars?

don't bother with a lightweight 17...if u really want ***** out performance...go with a lightweight 16 inch...heck u can even go for a 15 inch rim since its drag only....i did hear there are caliper clearance issues if you run 15 inch rims on the stock 2k2-2k3....but ynot411 has kosei k1s with MT slicks and they are 15 inch...i've seen them in person and he told me he didn't modify anything to make them fit...a direct bolt on...
so your telling me that a 16" wheel will fit on the 02/03 w/o a problem?
Kosei k1's huh? I def gotta do some research.

yeah any 16 inch wheel will fit without a single problem on 2k2 maximas...they actually came stock on the GXE models..and they have the same brakes as us....you can pick up a pair of lightweight 16s for a few hundred dollars easy....even more easier are 15 inch wheels...but i believe you have to go with the kosei K1's....since thats the only one I know that works without modifications..
maybe someone can step in and clarify what exactly needs to be modified in order to work

Look for the Enkei RP02s... they are cheap, light 17"s, last I checked.
And yeah, for DRs I think most people are running 15-16s... IIRC.

They are 16*8.5. Stock tire size is 245/45-16, it'll gear you down just a tad as an extra bonus. People on this board claim that they're about 16lbs but I think they're actually heavier than that. They fit fine on the front:

No rubbing at all with stock tire size and lowered on Progress springs.
P.S. if you find just a set of TT rears for sale, then I need 'em more than you.
