4th gen: What tire will be best for 18x8, 35mm offset

I am putting 18x8's on my 95. They have a 35mm offset. What tire size do you guys recomend running? First of all, are they going to rub? I was thinking about getting 235/40/18's but if I can fit a 245s on there with no issue I may do that. The car is lowered on ground controls, and once I get the wheels and tires on, I am going to lower it so that there is no fender well gap, but also not tuckin' tire. What do you guys think?

Go with 235 40 18. That is the closest to the OEM diameter and gear ratio.

wont rub and you can go lower because you want no fender gap.

I would like to run a 235 at the smallest. Are you thinking they will rub. A 215 on a 8" wide wheel would really stretch the tire. I am running 225's on my stock 16's.

Anyone else have any imput for 235's or 245's? I am hoping some of the guys with G35 wheels will chime in since I believe they are a similar width and offset.

I have run both 235 and 245 on an 8" wide rim +35offset. The 245 rubbed in the back till I bent the wheel well. So most likely you can avoid bending the wheel well if you go with the 235. I can’t say for sure because I never had the 235 on without the bent wheel well. The front also sit flush with the 235, where as with the 245 the stick out a bit.

ok cool. That's the info I needed. What were you lowered on when you had these two different tire sizes?

We are not choosing civic tires.

Go with 235/40/18s.

carson, I run 235/40/18 Proxes 4, and they look very nice on the wheel. not too wide, not too narrow, and the perfect size for handling purposes. 245s would be good too, but the sidewall would taper out a bit, which would make the handling not quite as precise IMO...

ok cool. Thanks for the replys guys. As far as tires that are affordable what do you guys recomend? I have been reading about the Nexen tires, and they are cheap and they seem to be getting really good reviews for the price. Any imput? I may just go with my old stand by's the Nitto 555's but they will be about 200 bucks more.

I am leaning towards a summer tire. I still have my stock 16's with good tread that I am going to run in the winter.
