The all new advice thread: TIRES

for as long as i can remember, we never had a real tire thread.

So talk to me.. what do you guys put on your cars (stock 17" wheels) What do you like, dislike, recommend.?

So far, i love the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S - but they come w/ a $200/each price tag?!?

next alternative are the Avon Tech m550, which has comparable reviews to the Pilot Sports. for $120/each

What do you think?

I want something quiet, good on snow/rain, quiet, good handling, and quiet on the road.

Any help would be appreciated.

When I had the AE, I had decent results with #5 on this list...

I have the Yok Avid V4S and couldn't be happier. Quite frankly it's the best tire I've ever own. It's quiet, great handling, and has a very smooth ride. Since I don't live in a place where it snows, the poor snow handling wasn't a factor. For the money it can't be beat!!!

How does the CL handle in the snow? The ZRis are summer tires.

Pilots are nice, but $$$$
Nittos suck. Very noisy after 10k miles

I have had 4 sets of these on my Max and Infiniti.

I have the pilot sports, they pull in every direction & are terrible in the snow. They handle pretty well in the rain though and excellent on dry pavement, if you want a smooth ride over bumps look at other tires
