Going to get Drifz 505

Anyone own these or know if they are light? I can get a set of 18X8.5 for $1000 with tires and I think this is the rim im getting bc I recently curbed my OEM rims and my tires are at the wearbars. I'd like 19" for looks, I think 20" looks a little too big, atleast the 18" size will maintain performance. These should look pretty good on my black maxima. Any opinions on these cheapo rims?

I like those rims a lot. curious to see how they'll look on your car. Buy em and post pics.

Ok, i definately will when they are on. Now that im out of warrenty I will probably drop the car too so they fill out the gap better as they arent going to look very big being 18" on a 6th gen.

The OEM set is going to be for sale pending my purchase of these wheels too, if anyone wants a set of 6th gen wheels with tires with some tread left on them let me know. I will entertain any reasonable offers + shipping of course.

except for the fact that Buddy Club wheels are excellent, lightweight, strong (EXPENSIVE) wheels with a true race heritage, and these "drifz" wheels are just generic cheapos....

Also these "Driftz" wheels....are they trying to copy "Drift Racing" wheels, which have the "Drift 55" model that looks pretty simlar to these (but without the polished lip)?

Either way...lightweight wheels tend to have the fact that they are lightweight specifically advertised. These are probably heavy as heck..and who knows if they're strong or not.

I would find a name-brand wheel, even if it's something fairly inexpensive....not some ebay generic knockoff.

Irish lighten up, no pun intended. The only other wheel I really considered was the Kazera/ASA

Comments?

Honestly, Im only keeping this car for another 2-3 years anyway so Im not trying to spend $2,000+ on a set.

Its actually "Drifz" not Driftz

Since the tires will be fairly beefy, I don't think the quality of the wheel would come into play as much. Since you are only keeping the car a little longer, I don't see what the problem with the cheaper wheels would be.

Im sure they will work fine, they probably weigh less than the OEM too, I have seen many cheap wheels that were light. I just prefer money in the bank to money in my car, and I think these rims look great.

They look good but probably wont in 18s. With them having a lip they will look like 17s, I say go with 19s.

After weighing all my options, I don't think its worth it to pay 50%+ more for a wheel/tire pkg thats 1" bigger. The price jump from 18" to 19" is significant, 20" seems the most cost effective because more tires are available in thie size. I don't want 20" because they look a little too big to me, and I don't want the weight or the lower aspect ratio.

Im currently riding on the wearbars of my F1s on the driver side so they gotta go very soon.

Nice that looks exactly how I want it to look. Same width so the lip should be about the same, gives a good idea thanks.

Since nobody owns or knows anything about these wheels other than being cheap, it can't be said they are a good or bad wheel based only on price. I don't find it worth it to spend double or triple just because nobody has drifz. If anyone finds testing or actual testimonials of owners experiences thats different.

There is alot of garbage out there that nobody here owns....In your first post you asked about WEIGHT right up front. Look I don't know the weight of these, but I will GUARANTEE YOU that wheels that cheap are CAST (not forged) and they are one of two things:

1. heavy as hell and "strong enough" or
2. moderately light (20lbs) and not strong at all.

If you like them, get them. But people are speaking in generalities here. There's a reason why "Drifz" is not a well-known or highly-regarded name: because they're just another one of these ebay-knockoff wheels that are made for the "tuner scene."

With wheels you generally get what you pay for. If you want cheap wheels that's fine...but don't be surprised when you bend them easily or when they're extremely heavy. If you're going just for looks then you're good to go here. If you're looking for a light wheel, I'll bet you 5 bucks that they are well over 20lbs....

The only thing is that these are Ace Spyders 19x8.5 and you are getting 18s, they might look too small.

They will look small, the pics of them on the G look ok to me though. Added note, as long as they are not heavier than OEM I would be happy with that. Its 60% looks, 30% price, and 10% performance I am looking for in a wheel, bc its not a high performance car, it is a near luxury sedan. I usually drive on new highway pavement so breaking them isnt an issue, plus I'll have 245/45 tires on them.

Well found out what the 18x8.5 weigh, 25Lbs, So I think thats about the same as stock. I know the lip will be bigger if I get the 9.5 width, but im not sure if its going to stick out and look ghetto.

So this will basically be purely for looks since thats about what our oem wheels weigh, if thats what you want then go for it.

Basically yes, I like the black rims on a black car look...I curbed a cuple of my rims pretty bad and my tires are bald so i figured id go for a new look....just a little unsure about the width.

All that matters is that my new rims dont weigh MORE than the OEM and be detrimental to the performance of the car.

I got um, but they can't go on until spring
With tires they tip the scale at 55 Lbs, rim is 18x8.5..Im happy with them from the looks of the next to my car, im glad I didnt go any bigger..i couldnt justify the added cost of tires and having to cchoose a different wheel to just have 19", I think 20" looks too big.

For the price of these tires you really cant go wrong, ive read some nice things abotu them on GTO forums too, so im looking forward to having the feel back that the a/s contis dont provide,. but im enjoying the quietness of those for now.
