repair/painting rims

I picked up some 350Z rims (18") that have some minor curb rash. They are the light metallic gray color. I found a paint that matches pretty close but how do I handle the finish? I'm assuming that something like clear coat is not good enough. Thanks in advance.

Thanks. Fortunately I was doing almost the same with the exception of the finish. I'll have to try their recommendation.
