questions regarding tire pressures

Is 32psi on a 44 MAX PSI tire, the same as 32psi on a 51 MAX PSI tire? Why, or why not?

I know the stock BS Potenza RE92s are rated at 44 MAX PSI...but alot of members have switched over to stock sized high performance tires (some rated at 51 MAX PSI)...I am one of them who have switched over to a tire rated at 51 MAX PSI...will running 32psi on my tire be the same as it was with the stock RE92s?

The psi is in relation to the atmospheric pressure, its a constant rating (i.e. - 32 psi is 32 psi regardless of whers it is)

The max psi is in correspondence to the tire design (belts, rib, materials)

You can pump those 512s to 51 psi but they won't have the sidewall stiffness of the RE92s at 32 psi.

hehe..i had a feelin you would be back...anyway, i just rolled over 1k miles...so the tires should be fully broken in...overall...i am pretty satisfied with the falkens...i mean for $430, u just can't go wrong

oh btw...the picture you showed me where it says "sumitomo tires, made in japan"....thats on the inside of your tires correct? becuz all 4 of my tires, the outside sidewall shows nothing....while TWO of my insides does say the sumitomo tires thing...just like yers...i'm wondering why the other two don't say it

I should have put a smilie in my post...

Couldn't tell ya about the label since I took the pics after they were off the rims. Check them next time you rotate them, but I'm guessing different manufacturing dates, maybe even years. What are the serial nos? That may be a way to tell how far appart they were made.
