Tire Size on 18s?

i know the best size to go with on 18x8 to be closest to stock diamter is 235/40-18 but i recieved an offer of a 225/35-18 Yoko Parada Spec set of tires pretty much new for free. what do you guys think? i kno the odo and speedo are gonna be a little off but would you do it?

you be the judge. but imo, no. it is more than an inch smaller in diameter. i would have to pass on them.

Don't do it. There won't be enough tire to fill in the fenderwell and it'll look like you have huge wheel gap, not to mention the speedo will be super wrong.

my gap was not that big, wish i had pic to show and for the speedo, it was off just a little nothing you would really notice. but the only thing that you would have to do is take your car to a local tire shop and have it recalb. i think it only cost me about $20

Recommended is 235/40. I'd try not to sway from that dimension.

i would say not worth it either...possibly 235 or 245/35/18...but not 225....its just too thin and not wide enough for teh maxima

there are some good things about going 225/35/18 however....for one, your speedo will read 60 when in reality you're really going 57.7...u might be able to avoid speeding tickets :grinno....also a shorter tire will increase the final drive ratio...and boost acceleration a bit...but it will reduce your top speed

A 225 is way to thin for a 8 inch wide wheel it will be stretched on and look like a$$. If you are going to run a 225 then the ideal wheel would be 7 inchs wide. If I where you I would do a 245/40/18 that will be the closest to the stock size and is the best fit you can get for that width wheel. I know this because I sell weels for a huge company on the west coast.

But, WHY do you think the 225/40 is a better size than 235/40?

ive had 225 45 18. it looks alright. but its a bit too thin. im getting 245 45 18 so i get a little more cushion. the s techs are too rough with 245 40 18 for me.
